Our Perpetual Adoration Chapel opened in 2006. Since then, people have been praying before the Blessed Sacrament 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
What is Eucharistic Adoration?
It is the adoration of Christ present in the Holy Eucharist. The Eucharist is displayed in a special holder called a monstrance and people come throughout the day and night to pray to Jesus. He is never alone in the Chapel.
Why is praying in front of the Eucharist different than praying anywhere else?
In the Eucharist, Jesus is actually present – body and blood, soul and divinity. We are not just praying to Him or thinking about Him. We are actually with Him!
Do I have to sign up in order to pray in the Chapel?
No. Please come in any time you wish to pray with the Lord. He is always there for you.
People sign up for one-hour commitments to ensure there is always someone praying before the Blessed Sacrament and because it quickly becomes a very rewarding spiritual habit.
Is there a certain way to pray during Adoration?
No. This is your time with Giod. Talk with Him. There are books there you may borrow. Some people pray the rosary. Others read or journal. Many simply sit or kneel, praying and reflecting about what is on their heart and mind. Just be with the Lord.
Can I sign up for a time with a group of people?
Yes! That is a great way to ensure your hour always has someone present. Form a team with family, friends, or neighbors and rotate who goes each week. Many groups and ministries in the parish do just that.
Where is the Chapel?
The Chapel is in the Holy Family Center (parish office), located behind the church, near the rectory and convent. It has a separate driveway off Manor Ave.
